Use of Grant (FY2009)
1. Activities in FY2009
In FY2008, to advance cutting edge research, an organization was set up under the leadership of Core Researcher Professor Arakawa, composed of about 50 world-class researchers drawn from academia, industry and research institutes. In order to achieve flexible research progress, there are 14 research groups. Research transfer takes place from fundemental research groups to applied research groups.
PECST is funded by a total grant of 3,899 million yen to the end of Fiscal Year of 2013.
In order to avoid complicated accounting and tax operations in Japan, PECST essentially applied self-funding in FY 2009. PETRA used only membership fees from industry.
